Cosy Games – Friday Five

You’re all snuggled down in bed, with a blanket around your shoulders, and a hot chocolate steaming on your bedside table. What could possible make this moment more perfect? A cosy game to play… that’s what!

Every now and then, on a Friday, I’m going to do what I now call a Friday Five. Basically, I’ll be giving you my top 5 on certain things; from superheroes, to action films, to desserts. But do let a girl know if there’s anything specifically you’d like me to rank. 🙂

Anyway, without further ado, let’s dive into the world of gaming, but more so, cosy gaming. I love nothing better than sticking on old marathon reruns of Buzzfeed Unsolved while I boot up my Nintendo Switch. So, most of these games can be found there but possibly on other platforms too!

5. Minecraft

This one may come as no surprise, but travelling through the lands of Minecraft is actually really relaxing. You can even set the game to peaceful mode if you don’t want to have to worry about the mobs or starving to death. It’s definitely a fun time waster and I tend to love playing it while listening to podcasts or audio books. It intensifies the cosiness!

4. The Sims 4

Another highly popular game and, to be fair, any of The Sims games will do to achieve that all round cosy feeling. I go through fits and starts with this game but what I enjoy most is being able to design and create houses. I’m a bit of a sucker for interior design so spend most of the time decorating than actually playing the game!! I also play this one on my laptop, and always make sure there’s a fresh cuppa at hand!

3. To The Moon

Grab a box of tissues because this one is a right tear-jerker! This is an adorable game that has a very linear story but that doesn’t take away from how cosy it is to play. The soundtrack is simply stunning, and the older design look this game has adds to its beauty. The full game doesn’t take long to complete, you can complete it in one sitting if you have the time. And trust me when I tell you… you need to make the time!

2. Don’t Starve

Do you enjoy Tim Burton movies for his creepy and quirky style? Then this is the cosy game for you! Don’t Starve is your typical craft and survival game but its style is enough to set it far apart from any others you’ve played before. You can also fully customise the world so it’s as easy or difficult as you wish to make it. If you’ve played this game, can you remember how many days you survived?

1. Cozy Grove

I have been addicted to this game for a couple months now! It’s Animal Crossing but better – you’re on a haunted island and get to craft items and upgrade your tent/house BUT there’s also lots of tasks and things for you to find each day. When you first get stranded on the island you discover that there are ‘bear ghosts’ that you have to save (and unlock) as you progress through the story. It’s just adorable and I could write a whole separate post on it some time. Plus, the style is super cute and cosy!!

How many of these games have you played? Do you have any cosy games to recommend? I’m always eager to find more so don’t hesitate to share in the comments below! 😀 I hope you liked the list and possibly even found a new game world you can dive into a get lost in. Right… off I go back to helping the ghost bears out…
